Lumon8

What Lumon8 does

Lumon8 is an autonomous generative engine optimization (GEO) platform for car dealerships.

It measures what ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Grok and Google AI say about a dealership when local shoppers ask, corrects what they get wrong or leave out on the pages AI reads, re-checks the next day, and reports the visits and leads AI sends. The dealer approves every change, or turns approval off. Nobody at the store does the work.

We defend your home market. Then we take you into theirs. Every store is measured twice: in its own city, and in the city of the rival AI names most often. The rival's share sits next to yours on the same scoreboard, and both move on the same chart.

What we measure

A fixed panel of the questions shoppers actually ask an AI assistant about buying a car: the flagship question (“best {brand}dealer near me”), the comparison question (you against the rival, by name), the top-stocked model, deals, reputation, local and service. We ask each question on all six engines, store every answer word for word with the model version that gave it, and count two things:

The headline is your share of AI recommendations: out of every 100 dealer recommendations AI gives in your market, how many are you. It comes with a stated noise band, so a two-point wobble is never reported as a win or a loss. The same panel runs in the rival’s city, so you can see where you are invisible before it costs a sale.

We also show how AI describes you: the praise, the caveats and the wrong facts, quoted verbatim from the answers, counted, with the site each line came from. Counts, never a sentiment score.

What we fix

When an engine has a fact wrong or missing — hours, phone, address, departments, the models you stock — we publish the correction on two surfaces AI reads: a one-line tag on your website that serves current structured data (AutoDealer, LocalBusiness and FAQ markup), plus an audit of whether your vehicle pages expose the Vehicle and Offer markup AI needs to cite your stock, and a facts page we host in plain HTML that every AI crawler can read without rendering anything. Each correction is drafted from a verified source, sent to you for a one-click approval, and logged with a receipt. Turn on auto-approve and the loop runs without you.

The same two surfaces carry your inventory. Most dealer websites draw the cars on the page with scripts an AI crawler never runs, so an assistant asked who has a Bronco in stock near you has nothing to read. We crawl your vehicle listings every day and publish what is on the lot in a format AI can read: counts and floor prices by model, new, used and certified, only when the numbers are fresh and reconcile. The question we ask the engines about your best-selling model comes from that crawl too, so we are measuring the cars you actually have.

Then we ask again. Every correction is re-checked on the next scan, and the Monday report says whether the engine picked it up.

What we prove

What we do not do

Who it is for

Franchise and independent car dealerships in the United States, dealer groups, and the agencies that serve them. Agencies run Lumon8 under their own brand and domain for their rooftops; the dealer sees the agency, not us.

How it starts

One line of code on your website, or tell us who builds your site and we open the ticket with them and cc you for approval. The first scan runs the same day. You can watch a live scan of your own store right now, in about 90 seconds, with no signup: see what AI says about your store.

GEO and AEO, in dealer terms

What is GEO (generative engine optimization) for a car dealership?

GEO is making sure AI assistants recommend your store. When a shopper asks ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude, Grok or Google AI "best Nissan dealer near me" or "where should I buy a Rogue," the answer names a few dealers. GEO is the work of being one of them, and being the one it picks. It is measured as your share of AI recommendations — out of every 100 dealer recommendations AI gives in your market, how many are you.

What is AEO (answer engine optimization), and is it different from GEO?

Same goal, older name. AEO came from the days of featured snippets and voice assistants: get your business into the one answer instead of a list of links. GEO is the same idea for AI assistants that write the answer themselves. Lumon8 does both, because every engine we watch is an answer engine. Dealers do not need to know the difference; the question is the same either way: does AI name your store, and does it pick you?

Is this the same as SEO?

No. SEO gets your website ranked on a results page a shopper then clicks. GEO gets your store named inside an answer the shopper never clicks past. AI assistants build that answer from what they can read about you — review sites, listings, your Google profile, and your website if they can read it — and many dealership websites cannot be read by AI at all. Good SEO helps. It is not enough on its own, and it does not tell you what AI is saying about you.

Why does it matter for a dealership right now?

Because the shopper who asks an AI assistant which dealer to trust gets one answer, and the stores not in it never know the sale existed. That shopper is not comparing ten websites; they are being handed two or three names. If a rival across town is in the answer and you are not, they get the visit. Lumon8 shows you that answer, in the engine's own words, before it costs you a sale.

What does Lumon8 actually do about it?

Three things, on repeat. Measure: we ask the six AI engines the questions your shoppers ask, at home and in your rival's market, and count who they name and who they pick. Correct: when an engine has a fact wrong or missing, we publish the correction on the page AI reads, with your approval or automatically. Prove: we ask again the next day, and every Monday you get a report of what moved and the visits and leads AI sent. One line of code on your website starts it; your team does no work after that.

What do I have to do?

Put one line of code on your website, or tell us who builds your site and we open the ticket with them and cc you. Then approve each correction with one click, or switch on auto-approve and never see them. That is the whole job. No content to write, no dashboard to babysit, no new website.

Does Lumon8 replace my agency or my website provider?

No. Lumon8 is the measurement and correction layer. Your agency keeps writing content and running ads; your website provider keeps hosting the site. We tell you, every week, whether any of that moved your share of AI recommendations, and we fix the facts AI has wrong in the meantime. Agencies also use Lumon8 under their own brand for their dealers.

How is Lumon8 different from a GEO agency, or my website vendor's AI tool?

They sell findings: a dashboard that shows how AI sees you, then a monthly content retainer or a services team to act on it. Lumon8 measures, corrects and re-checks on its own, shows the rival and the rival's market on the same scoreboard, and shows you what AI says about your store word for word with the site each line came from. We do not write monthly content or run ads. And our price is on the website; theirs is quoted after the call. The honest side-by-side is on our comparison page.

Does AI know what I actually have in stock?

Usually not, because it cannot read your website's inventory. Most dealer sites draw the cars with scripts that AI crawlers never run, so an assistant asked who has a Bronco in stock near you has nothing to go on. Lumon8 crawls your vehicle listings every day and publishes what is on the lot in a format AI can read: counts and floor prices by model, new, used and certified, on the facts page we host and in your structured data. A number only goes out when it is fresh and reconciles with your site, and you can turn price publishing off. We publish it; we do not promise which engine will quote it.

What does it cost, and why is the price on the website?

The rate card is on our pricing page: per rooftop, per month, less on annual, with a free audit first, no card and no contract. We publish it because we are asking you to trust a number every Monday, and a company that hides its own price is a strange one to trust with yours. Nobody else in this field publishes theirs. Agency and dealer-group pricing is quoted, because those rates belong to the agency, not to us.

How does the tag get installed?

Two ways, your choice. Paste one line of code into your website or Google Tag Manager, which takes about five minutes. Or tell us who builds your website and we open the ticket with them and cc you for approval, so you never touch the site. Either way the light on your dashboard turns green the first time a real visitor loads a page with the tag, and the first scan runs the same day. The full instructions, forwardable to your website provider, are on the install page.
